The immense British Columnbia coast mountains offer a lifetime of alpine rock climbing for those willing to endure the occasional bushy coastal approach.

Anderson Group

The Anderson Group is a compact range of striking granite domes east of the Fraser Canyon. The most well known of the peaks is Yak Peak which sits prominently to the northwest of the Coquihalla highway near the tollbooths.

Matier Group

These pictures are all from a trip to Mt Matier, a peak near Joffre Lakes just off the Duffey Lake Road north of Pemberton. The area is a great introduction to coastal alpine climbing, with a variety of excellent rock, snow and ice routes on various peaks, many just a few hours from the road. This was my second trip into the area, and unlike the previous rain-drenched trip, this time the weather was perfect
